Personalized Comfort: Unlike traditional outdoor chairs, the Shorebird Chair features a patent-pending Custom Recline System that lets you adjust to any angle so you can find the exact angles that are most comfortable to your unique body type and preferences.

No-Crossbar design: We removed all traditional crossbars that typically are behind your head or under your legs on traditional chairs. By removing these crossbars on the Shorebird Chair, it provides an incredibly comfortable and supportive sitting experience for all day comfort.

Replaceable Fabric: Our modular, replaceable fabric system means your chair stays in use longer and can be refreshed season after season — minimizing waste while maximizing lifespan. Easily refresh your look with a new color with our Fabric Replacement options.

Premium Material Choice: We use FSC certified grade-A Teak, marine-grade hardware, and natural canvas or 100% recycled performance fabrics — all chosen for their low environmental impact and long-term durability. These premium materials not only age beautifully, but are also built to withstand the elements without compromising style.

How many angles can I recline to?

The limit does not exist. Our patent-pending Custom Recline system allows you to recline to the exact angles most comfortable to your unique body type and comfort preferences. Simply remove the rope from the cleat, adjust to your desired position, secure the rope back into the cleat, and sit back and relax.

Can I replace the fabric on my Shorebird Chair?

Yes, our patent-pending Replaceable Fabric System is designed for easy replacement without any tools. Replacement Fabric for your Shorebird Chair are available for purchase separately, extending your Shorebird Chair's life and allowing you to refresh your style without replacing the entire chair.

This sustainable design reduces waste and ensures your chair can last for generations. By using natural or recycled materials for the fabric, each fabric used on the Shorebird Chair is the equivalent to preventing 41+ new plastic bottles from entering the supply chain.

Are there crossbars?

No! Unlike other luxury beach chairs, the Shorebird Chair was designed with no crossbars behind your head or under your legs so you can relax with ultimate comfort all day long.

How much does the Shorebird Chair weigh and is it portable?

Weighing only 10.5 lbs, the Shorebird Chair is the lightest wood beach chair out in the market, and up to 30% lighter than traditional wood beach chairs. The Shorebird Chair is equipped with removable Two-way Carry Straps so you can wear it as a backpack, convert to a single shoulder strap to carry one on each shoulder, or simply remove the carry straps to make it an at-home staple.

The Shorebird Chair easily folds up and lies flat for easy storage.

Can you repair the Shorebird Chair over time?

Yes! The Shorebird Chair was designed to be modular for ease of repair/replacement to last you a lifetime.

Does the Shorebird Chair have armrests?

Yes! The ropes that are integral to our patent-pending Custom Recline System become taught when you lean back when secured in the cleat, providing very comfortable and supportive armrests.

What is the warranty?

What is Grade-A Teak and why does it matter?

Grade-A Teak comes from the heartwood of mature teak trees (25+ years old) and contains the highest concentration of natural oils, making it exceptionally durable and weather-resistant.

We use FSC-certified, Grade-A Teak to ensure sustainable harvesting practices while delivering premium quality that naturally resists moisture, saltwater, insects, and UV damage. Grade-A teak will last for decades with minimal maintenance.

Where is the Shorebird Chair made?

What is the weight capacity?

The Shorebird Chair is weight tested up to 250lbs.

How do I care for my Shorebird Chair and Fabric?

To prolong the life of your Shorebird Chair, store inside when not in use. Allow the chair & fabric to dry completely before storing away. Store in dry, non-humid environments when not in use. Spot clean with soap and warm water and let air dry. If using/storing in humid environments or for continuous outdoor use, we highly recommend treating the fabric with a natural, non-toxic treatment. Does the Shorebird Chair come with a Cup Holder?

The Shorebird Chair is equipped with two attachment points (one on either side of the frame), for attachment of the Cup Holder. The Cup Holder can be purchased separately, or as part of our bundle & save options.

Some customers enjoy attaching a Cup Holder to each side of the frame for ultimate versatility.

Shipping, Returns, & Warranty

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return and refund policy for all of our products purchased directly from Shorebird, as well as exchanges. If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase, we’ll get you setup with a refund or exchange within 30 days of receipt (purchase of gift cards are non-refundable). Please note, that customers will be responsible for return shipping costs, unless you sign up for Checkout+ by Onward which provides free return shipping as one of the perks.

All product returns must be shipped back in their original form of packaging and include all tags attached, accessories, and be in original condition to be eligible for a refund. Returns are refunded to the original payment method used during purchase. In addition, Shorebird reserves the right to not issue a refund or exchange if the return is missing components, accessories, or is not in original condition.

How long does it take to receive my order?

In-stock items ship within 1-2 business days and typically arrive within 5-7 business days via ground shipping. Orders received after 3pm EST will ship the following business day.

Orders are fulfilled and shipped Monday - Friday as our fulfillment center is closed on the weekends and federal holidays. Orders placed after 3 PM EST on weekdays will ship the following 1-3 business days.

Please note that processing + shipping times may vary during new product launches, high-volume seasons, and holidays. If an order is for a trip or event we recommend ordering in advance as much as possible in case there are any unexpected delays with the shipping carrier or inclement weather.

Pre-order items will have estimated delivery dates listed on the product page. You'll receive tracking information via email once your order ships for ease of tracking.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we ship within the United States. For international inquiries, please contact us directly and we'll work with you to arrange shipping internationally.

What if my Shorebird Chair arrives damaged?

Please inspect your Shorebird Chair upon delivery. If you notice any damage, contact us immediately with photos. We'll arrange for a replacement or repair at no cost to you.

All Shorebird Chairs are carefully packaged and inspected before shipping, but we understand that damage can occur during transit.

What is Onward Checkout+?

Shorebird has partnered with Onward to provide carbon neutral shipping protection against lost, stolen and damaged packages, as well as other benefits like a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, 10% CashBack, and free return shipping.

This means that when you add Onward Checkout+ to your Shorebird order, you’ll be protected against lost, stolen or damaged packages. You’ll also have a 90-day extended warranty that protects against rips, tears and other issues arising from normal usage. Additionally, you receive free return shipping and you'll also receive 10% CashBack issued as store credit as long as you keep your order.

When you add Onward to your order, you will be fully protected in the event something goes wrong with your shipment. Simply add Onward to your cart at checkout and you will have full protection should something go wrong with your shipment.

If you choose to waive Onward shipping protection and your package is damaged, stolen, or lost in transit, you can reach out to us for help. We will do our best to assist, although we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to recover your package once it is passed off to our shipping partner.

How does Onward work?

Onward is a shipping protection service that covers packages that are lost, stolen, or damaged in transit. If you add Onward to your order, you will be able to file a claim with just a few clicks and have the option of receiving a refund or a reorder based on the type of claim. Your claim will typically be reviewed for approval within a day provided that we have received all the requested information.

Who does Onward partner with to make shipments carbon neutral?

Onward has partnered with Cool Effect, a 501c3 non-profit climate change organization, to neutralize carbon emissions from your shipments covered with Onward. When you add Onward to your order, you’ll be automatically taking action against climate change.

How Do I File A Claim For A Lost, Stolen, Or Damaged Package?

You can quickly file a claim through the email that Onward sends you after you place your order, or you can file here.

If your package is lost or stolen, claims must be filed within 90 days of the purchase date.

If you chose to waive Onward shipping protection, you can still reach out to us at hello@shorebird.com for help. We will do our best to resolve the issue, although we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to recover your package once it has been passed off to our shipping partner.
